A lifelong community builder and creative organizer, he focuses on building durable cultural infrastructure rooted in belonging, rhythm, and lineage, drawing on seven years of experience organizing and co-running a neighborhood-based community recycling initiative in Brooklyn, where he managed day-to-day operations, budgeting, and sustainability. Under his leadership, AfroSabor has grown into a citywide cultural network of over two hundred members. His work centers long-term cultural stewardship, access, and the preservation of Black creative legacy in New York City.

A pioneer of the Latin dance community. Ismael played a pivotal role in shaping the movement during the late 1990s and early 2000s, paving the way for a new generation of artists.

Known for his unique perspective, he brings a deeper lens to Latin dance, one that goes beyond performance to highlight its essence, cultural significance, and power to elevate the community.

As our Featured Opening Remarks speaker, Ismael, will set the tone for the Dance Leadership Summit, offering insight and vision that will ground and inspire the conversations ahead.

Atithan is a Discovery and Empowerment Coach and LMHC who is passionate about helping individuals build more fulfilling and empowered relationships with themselves. Atithan started her dance journey a year ago as part of her dedication to creating the life of her dreams, and the experience has shown her the importance of showing up for herself even when growth feels uncomfortable, trusting the process, and finding confidence through movement and joy.

Co-Director of Latin Reflections at La Conexion Dance Studio

Mike is a retired math teacher and nurse who now channels his passion and energy into the Latin dance community. Through DJing and hosting La Conexxion Social, he is dedicated to creating joyful, welcoming experiences that bring people together on and off the dance floor. Proudly representing Latin Reflections, Mike continues to inspire connection, culture, and community through music and dance.
